It all began with the members of the Deacon Board at New Life Baptist Church of Houston in the beginning of year 2000. They felt at the time a calling to find ways to reach  the surrounding communities by sharing the resources they had.

That is how LIT (The Learning Institute of Texas) was founded. LIT was later approved by the Dept. of Home Land Securities (formerly INS) to accept foreign students by issuing the I-20 forms.

To establish LIT in all nations

Our vision is to open schools on all continents for the purpose of providing educational training for the betterment of the communities involved.

To develop and equip leaders to serve in their respective communities

Our primary goal is to offer college-level education to adults who have had little or no opportunity to receive such training with a special focus on improving English fluency and computer skills.

English as Second Language (ESL)

Special emphasis on phonics for correct pronunciation, listening comprehension and real-life conversational practices have proven to expedite progress for many foreign students. Our cutting-edge language lab has made the "LIT Method" of learning famous throughout the international community.

Computer Classes

Basic computer classes to specialized courses are taught by our experienced instructors to help many achieve computer literacy and advance in their careers. Our fully-equipped computer lab enables the students to learn practical applications of various software programs.
